DR JOHN BLYTHE

I'm a Chartered Psychologist with a PhD in the Psychology of Security Awareness and over 15 years bridging academic research, government policy, and industry practice.

At CybSafe and Immersive Labs, two market-leading security awareness and training platforms, I led the application of behavioural and learning sciences to security awareness and training programmes used by organisations across government, finance, retail, and technology. My work focused on ensuring interventions changed judgement and security behaviour, not just awareness, and that CISOs and security leadership had the metrics to prove it.

My research at UCL and work at the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport on secure-by-design IoT informed the Product Security and Telecommunications Infrastructure Act (PSTI Act), and my academic research has been funded by PETRAS, CREST, the Home Office, DCMS, and EPSRC.
